What Is Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)?
IUI, or intrauterine insemination, is a relatively simple fertility treatment. The procedure itself involves transferring semen that has been washed and concentrated directly into the uterus via a thin catheter. IUI is done around the time of ovulation or in conjunction with fertility drugs to maximize the likelihood of conception.

Contra Indications of IUI
Semper lacus cursus porta, feugiat primis in ultrice ligula tempus auctor ipsum and mauris lectus enim ipsum enim gravida purus pretium ligula
1.blocked fallopian tubes
2.sperm count very less (oligoasthenoteratozoospermia)
3. genital tract infection in wife.
4. previous multiple iui failure
5.advanced maternal age (relative)
6.other coexisting factors of infertility.
7.severe endometriosis.
TREATMENT CYCLES IN IUI
1.Ovulation induction with letrozole
2.Ovulation induction with letrozole and gonadotrophins
3.Ovulation induction with gonadotrophins and GnRH antagonist
TREATMENT CYCLES IN IUI
DAY 2 OF MENSES Blood tests are done along with transvaginal ultrasound for antral follicular count and rule out any ovarian cysts
Start with fertility drugs /gonadotrophins
Serial ultrasounds (follicular study)to see sizr of follicle
Hcg trigger once follicle size reaches 18-20mm

After the IUI procedure you may be prescribed progesterone via a vaginal suppository.
Do pregnancy blood test 10 to 14 days post-IUI or u might take t-homepregnancy test.

IUI has helped many women become pregnant, but it doesn’t always work. In cycles where fertility drugs and IUI were combined, the pregnancy success rate can reach as high as 20%.5 These are per-cycle rates, meaning that the success odds are higher when looking at multiple cycles together. Often, it is recommended to commit to trying IUI for a minimum of three cycles.
Your personal success rate will vary depending on the cause of your infertility, the quality of the sperm you are using, and your age.
Deciding whether or not to pursue IUI is a personal choice. Though IVF success rates per cycle are much higher, IUI is significantly less expensive. The procedure is also easier and less invasive. If IVF is out of your price range, multiple IUI cycles might be the better choice, depending on the cause of your infertility. Another option to consider is mini-IVF.
